Spectacular Gluten Free Bread in the Bread Machine! xanthan free option

This is the first gluten-free loaf in 2 years that came out just like "real bread". What a thrill it is to have soft, moist, tender Gluten Free bread from my bread machine! It smells and tastes amazing, with a thin crisp crust and a tender holey texture. The flavor is great, but it still had a tiny bit of yeasty tangy flavor ( I guess that happens when some yeasts react to the Gluten Free flours) so I ordered a new yeast called SAF Instant Yeast ( check it out by clicking the link) SAF is much cheaper than what I was spending on Fleischmann's and now my bread tastes spectacular!

Featured in culture magazine! click here to see the article! I'm giving up milk, but thank goodness I don't need to give up yogurt. The bacteria in yogurt that has incubated for 24 hours eats the lactose and makes it safe for my digestion. I love making it in the Crock Pot and it works like a charm. I get thick tangy lactose free Greek yogurt (or is it yoghurt?) for a fraction of the price in the store. I buy a gallon of organic milk with no growth hormones for $3.25. I use 3/4 of the gallon of milk, so say $2.25, plus about 1/2 of a cup of my last batch's yogurt for starter. You can also use a good commercial plain yogurt with live cultures or a dry starter. Depending on how long you drain the yogurt, you will finish with a little more than half the original weight of your milk in yogurt. So for my 100 ounces of milk I get apx. 1 1/2-2 of the large (32 ounce) Greek yogurts that would sell for apx $9.00. That's a ...

Crockpot Ragu Sunday Sauce

Traditionally in our house, we make a meat sauce that cooks for hours on the stove. It requires a fair amount of work to get it all prepped, browned, and then I have to stir it off and on for hours, so it won't burn. I love cooking, but Sunday is a nice day to relax, so I wanted to see if I could make a great #Italian Sunday meal with a lot less work... I decided to make my Sunday Ragu Pasta sauce recipe in the crockpot and I'm flabbergasted how good it is! The sauce came out thick, dark and beautifully rich. I barely had to do a thing. No mess, no browning, no pots and pans to wash. We snuggled on the couch watching football and movies, while the house filled with mouthwatering aromas, and I didn't have to jump up once.
